Change the engine oil more frequently under a heavy load or in high ambient temperatures.

Perform this procedure more often in dusty, dirty conditions.
Important
Refer to your engine operator's manual for additional maintenance procedures.
If you leave the key in the ignition switch, someone could accidently start the engine and
seriously injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the ignition and disconnect the wire from the spark plug before you do any
maintenance. Set the wire aside so that it does not accidentally contact the spark plug.
Maintenance Procedure
• Change the engine oil.
• Check the blade drive belt adjustment.
• Check the engine oil level.
• Check the safety system.
• Clean the mower housing.
• Check the battery electrolyte level.
• Check the tire pressure.
• Check the blades.
• Check the brakes.

• Grease the chassis.
• Service the foam air cleaner.
• Clean the outside of the engine.

• Change the engine oil.
• Adjust the blade drive belt.
• Service the paper air cleaner.
• Check the spark plug.
• Replace the fuel filter.
• Perform all of the maintenance procedures listed above.
• Check the belts for wear or cracks.
• Drain the fuel tank.
• Paint chipped surfaces.
• Charge the battery and disconnect the cables.
