Drive at an economic speed
The best possible performance and
fuel economy is obtained when the
e n g i n e s p e e d i s k e p t w i t h i n t h e
"Economy" zone at all times. This is
indicated by the green band on the
tachometer.
Idling for long periods causes fuel
wastage
Do not run the engine at idling speed
for more than 3 minutes.
Sudden starting and quick accel-
erations affect the fuel economy
Be gentle with the accelerator, harsh
a c c e l e r a t i o n i n c r e a s e s t h e f u e l
consumption and tyre wear.
7. CORRECT DRIVING OPERATION
Coasting (rolling)
No fuel is being consumed when the
accelerator pedal is released. When
approaching a planned stop, turning

Shifting up early and shifting down

For the best fuel economy, select the
highest gear and, when changing
down let the engine speed drop to
the lower part of the green band
before shifting down.
