5.3 Counting
Generate hardware interrupt by comparison
With the "Hardware interrupt" parameter you determine whether a hardware interrupt is
generated.

Loading the count value
Introduction
You can specify the value from which counting is continued for a digital input parameterized as
a counter.
Load counter
You can specify the load value for counting via the user program.
You can find information on the address space in the following sections:
● Section "CFU PA: Address space of the submodule DIQ8 DC24V/0.5A, Counter
(Page 195)"
● Section "CFU DIQ: Address space of the submodule DIQ16 DC24V/0.5A, Counter
(Page 198)"
You can find the following parameters in the control interface:
● Load value
● LD_SLOT: Apply load value with rising edge of LD_SLOT as current count value
● SW_GATE: 0 = Stop counting / 1 = Continue counting
Applying the load value takes effect directly and is independent of whether the counter is
currently running.
The following figure shows the change of the count value with control via the user program (load
value) and the effects on the comparison event.

Setting of the parameter
● 1 = Comparison event for DQ
occurred
● 0 = Lock
Behavior
When the parameter is set to 1, a hardware interrupt is gener‐
ated when the STS_DQ status bit changes from 0 to 1.
