v Follow the suggested actions in the order in which they are listed in the Action column until the problem
is solved.
v See the parts listing in the Problem Determination and Service Guide to determine which components are
customer replaceable units (CRU) and which components are field replaceable units (FRU).
v If an action step is preceded by "(Trained service technician only)," that step must be performed only by a
trained service technician.

An operating system was not found.

The ac power has been restored.
Action
1. Make sure that a bootable operating system is
installed.
2. Run the hard disk drive diagnostic tests (see the
Problem Determination and Service Guide for
information about running the diagnostic tests).
3. Reseat the following components:
a. Hard disk drive cable
b. DVD drive and cables drive.
c. (Trained service technician only) System
board
4. Replace the components listed in step 3 one at a
time in the order shown, restarting the server
each time.
1. Reseat the power cord.
2. Check for the interruption of external power
source.
3. Replace the power cord.
