How to use

Replacement of Battery

Installing and Using the Product

Please read this manual carefully before operating your set and retain it for future reference.
To view the instructions of advanced features, visit http://www.lg.com or scan QR code and then download Owner's Manual. Some of the content in this manual may differ from your product.

  1. Sound bar
  2. Remote Control Receiver / Status Display
  3. Wireless Subwoofer - Install it close to the sound bar.
  4. External Device - (Blu-ray player, game console, etc.)
  1. Connect the sound bar to your TV via an optical cable or an HDMI cable.
  2. If you are using an external device (ex. Blu-ray player, game console, etc.), connect it to the sound bar via an HDMI cable.
  3. Connect to power in the following order: wireless subwoofer → sound bar. Then, turn on the sound bar. When the connection is automatically established with the sound bar, the LED on the wireless subwoofer will light up in green.
  4. Using the product with your TV
    1. Press the Function button repeatedly until "OPT/HDMI ARC" appears on the status display.
    2. On your TV' s settings, set the output speaker to [HDMI ARC], [Optical], or [External Speaker].
    3. When the TV is properly connected to the product, "OPT" or "ARC" appears on the status display with a sound.
  5. Connecting the product to your smartphone via Bluetooth
    1. Tap the Settings button on your smartphone and select Bluetooth. Turn on the Bluetooth function. (Off > On)
    2. Press the Bluetooth pair button. After a moment, you will see "BT READY" on the status display.
    3. Find and tap the product on your smartphone. The product appears as "LG SP7 (XX)".
    4. When the product is connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth, you can see the status display change from "PAIRED" → "Connected Bluetooth device name" → "BT".
  6. Connecting to the LG Sound Bar app
    1. Find and install the LG Sound Bar app on Google Play or App Store from your smartphone.
    2. You can get more information regarding its use by selecting [Help] in [Setting].

warningIf you see a red LED on the back of the wireless subwoofer, it means that the sound bar is not connected to the subwoofer. If this is the case, connect them in the following order.

  1. Press the Power button on the sound bar to turn it off.
  2. Press the PAIRING button on the back of the disconnected wireless subwoofer. Check if LED blinks green.
  • If you still see a red LED on the back of the wireless subwoofer, press and hold the button on the back of the subwoofer again.
  1. Press the Power button on the sound bar to turn it on.
  2. When the connection is established, you will see a green LED light on the back of the wireless subwoofer.
    * Keep the sound bar, the subwoofer away from the device (ex. wireless router, microwave oven, etc.) over 1 m to prevent wireless interference.
    • Some speakers may not make sound depend on the input source. Select CINEMA sound mode to listen through all speakers.

Set up the Auto Power function to off and turn off the product.

For models using an adapter
Only use the AC adapter supplied with this device. Do not use a power supply from another device or another manufacturer. Using any other power cable or power supply may cause damage to the device and void your warranty.

For models using a Laser device

This product employs a Laser System. To ensure proper use of this product, please read this owner's manual carefully and retain it for future reference. Shall the unit require maintenance, contact an authorised service centre. Use of controls, adjustments or the performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure. To prevent direct exposure to laser beam, do not try to open the enclosure.

For models using a battery
This device is equipped with a portable battery or accumulator.

Risk of fire or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.

How to Safely remove the batteries or the battery pack from the equipment:
To Remove the old batteries or battery pack, follow the assembly steps in reverse order. To prevent contamination of the environment and bring on possible threat to human and/or animal health, the old batteries or the battery pack must be put in an appropriate container at designated collection points. Do not dispose of batteries or battery pack together with other waste. It is recommended that you use local, free reimbursement systems batteries or battery packs, (may not be available in your area). The batteries or the battery pack should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.

For models using a built-in battery
Do not store or transport at pressures lower than 11.6 kPa and at above 15,000 m altitude.

  • replacement of a battery with an incorrect type that can defeat a safeguard (for example, in the case of some lithium battery types);
  • disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, that can result in an explosion;
  • leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas; and
  • a battery subjected to extremely low air pressure that may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.

Disposal of your old appliance

  1. This crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that waste electrical and electronic products (WEEE) should be disposed of separately from the municipal waste stream.
  2. Old electrical products can contain hazardous substances so correct disposal of your old appliance will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. Your old appliance may contain reusable parts that could be used to repair other products, and other valuable materials that can be recycled to conserve limited resources.
  3. You can take your appliance either to the shop where you purchased the product, or contact your local government waste office for details of your nearest authorised WEEE collection point. For the most up to date information for your country please see www.lg.com/global/recycling.

Disposal of waste batteries/accumulators

  1. This symbol may be combined with chemical symbols for mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) if the battery contains more than 0.0005% of mercury, 0.002% of Pb cadmium or 0.004% of lead.
  2. All batteries/accumulators should be disposed separately from the municipal waste stream via designated collection facilities appointed by the government or the local authorities.
  3. The correct disposal of your old batteries/accumulators will help to prevent potential negative consequences for the environment, animal and human health.

POWER: This unit operates on a mains supply of 100 - 240 V ~ 50 - 60 Hz.
Wiring: This unit is supplied with a BS 1363 approved main plug. When replacing the fuse, always use a fuse of the same rating and approved to BS 1362. Never use this plug with the fuse cover omitted. To obtain a replacement fuse cover contact your dealer. If the type of plug supplied is not suitable for the mains sockets in your home, then the plug should be removed and a suitable type fitted. Please refer to the wiring instructions below:

A mains plug removed from the mains lead of this unit must be destroyed. A mains plug with bared wires is hazardous if inserted in a mains socket. Do not connect either wire to the earth pin, marked with the letter E or with the earth symbol 6 or coloured green or green and yellow. If any other plug is fitted, use same rating of fuse in the plug.

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following codes:

  • BLUE: NEUTRAL, BROWN: LIVE - As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this unit may not correspond with the coloured marking identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black. The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
