When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
Read all instructions.
To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse base, cord or plug, in water or other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
Avoid contacting moving parts.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service center for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. Or, call the appropriate toll-free number listed on the cover of this manual.
The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
Do not use outdoors.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
Blade is sharp. Handle carefully.
Keep hands and utensils away from moving blades while chopping food to prevent possibility of severe personal injury or damage to the food chopper. A scraper may be used but must be used only when the food chopper is not running.
To reduce the risk of injury, never place cutting blade on base without first putting bowl properly in place.
Be certain cover is locked securely in place before operating appliance.
Do not attempt to defeat the cover interlock mechanism. ❍ Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
This product is for household use only.
POLARIZED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
ELECTRIC CORD
The cord of this appliance was selected to reduce the possibility of tangling in or tripping over a longer cord. If more length is needed, use an extension cord rated no less than 15 amperes. (For 220 volts rated products, use an extension cord rated no less than 6 amperes.) When using an extension cord, do not let it drape over the working area or dangle where someone could accidentally trip over it. Handle cord carefully for longer life; avoid jerking or straining it at outlet and appliance connections.
Note: If the power-supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by qualified personnel; in Latin America, by an authorized service center.

HOW TO USE
Before using for the first time wash the bowl, lid and blade in hot, soapy water and dry thoroughly. All of these parts are dishwasher-safe (top-rack only). Wipe the base with a damp cloth; do not immerse the base in water.
ASSEMBLY
On a countertop or other flat surface, place the bowl onto the base, lining up the bowl locking tabs to the base locking slots. Turn clockwise until the bowl locks (A).
Slide the blade hub down over the shaft.
Be careful not to touch the A blade as it is extremely sharp.
Place the lid on the bowl, with the extended tab on the same side as the safety lock slot. Turn the lid into the safety lock slot as far as it will go so that the dot on the lid is aligned with the dot on the base (B).
Note: For your protection, this unit has a safety lock system. The unit will not operate unless the lid and base dots are aligned. Do not attempt to operate the unit without safety locking lid in place.
CHOPPING & MINCING
To use, remove the lid and place dry food in the bowl. (See PROCESSING GUIDE).
Place the lid on the bowl and turn to lock into place.
Press the one-touch pulse button to process.
Note: This product uses a pulsing action. Avoid running the motor continuously for periods over 1 minute. The longer the continuous pulse, the finer the texture. For coarsely chopped foods, use short pulses.
Unplug the unit. Be sure the blade stops turning completely before removing the lid. Remove the lid and grasp the plastic blade hub. Carefully pull the blade straight up. Remove the bowl and empty the processed food. Do not use bowl for storing food.
