    The TOSHIBA Audio Application serves the following purposes. Transferring Audio Data The TOSHIBA Audio Application can be used to encrypt audio data on your personal computer and transfer it to the HDD Card. Following are two methods for transferring data to the HDD Card: With the HDD Card inserted into MOBILPHILE, audio data can be transferred.

    Audio Data Playback Flow Import audio data from the desired music CD to your personal computer, using a software application such as Windows Media Player (version 7.1 or later). For details, consult Help in the software application. Transfer the imported audio data to MOBILPHILE. For details, consult the appropriate sections in this owner’s manual.

    USB port or PC card slot (TYPE II) Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack 2 or later Important TOSHIBA does not guarantee that the TOSHIBA Audio Application will work on all systems fulfilling the above requirements. When upgrading the OS, deinstall the TOSHIBA Audio Application first. After upgrading the OS, reinstall the TOSHIBA Audio Application.

    Installing the TOSHIBA Audio Application Install the TOSHIBA Audio Application on your personal computer. Before starting the installation, quit all applications in use. Insert the supplied CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive on a personal computer. Click “Install TOSHIBA Audio Application”.
  • Page 9 Specify an installation destination, then click “Next”. Click “Next”. The “Select Program Folder” window appears. Click “Next”. The contents of “readme.txt” appears. Click “Next”. Installation begins. When installation is completed, the “InstallShield Wizard Complete” window opens. Click “Finish”. A window that prompts you to restart may appear depending on the OS and other system environments of your personal computer.

    Connecting the HDD Card to a Personal Computer In order to transfer audio data from a personal computer to the HDD Card, the HDD Card will have to be connected to a personal computer by one of the following methods. Connect MOBILPHILE to a personal computer, via the USB ports.

    Important When connecting MOBILPHILE to a personal computer, attach the AC adapter to MOBILPHILE. If you connect MOBILPHILE to a personal computer without using the AC adapter, an exhausted battery may result in data recorded on the HDD Card to being damaged or lost.

    Connect MOBILPHILE to a personal computer via the USB port or insert the HDD Card to the PC card slot on a personal computer. ( Start the TOSHIBA Audio Application. Select the HDD Card drive, then select “New Folder” from the File menu.

    Deleting Audio Data on the HDD Card Start the TOSHIBA Audio Application. The Navigation window appears. Select audio data to be deleted, then select “Delete” from the File menu. After a confirmation window appears, select “Yes” to move the selected audio data to the trash.

    Editing a Playlist You can create a Playlist to play back audio data in a specified sequence. Creating a Playlist Start the TOSHIBA Audio Application. The Navigation window appears. Select “Edit Playlist” from the Tools menu. The Playlist edit window appears.

    Formatting the HDD Card The HDD Card is FAT32-formatted before shipment. Therefore you generally do not need to perform partition creation or formatting. If the HDD Card becomes unusable after the HDD Card has been formatted using a device with a different format type, use the following procedure to perform partition creation and formatting.
