OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

VACUUMING OPERATION

Be sure to read, understand, and apply information entitled 'important safety instructions'. Do not vacuum in areas with flammable gases, vapors, or explosive dusts in the air. Flammable gases or vapors include but are not limited to: lighter fluid, solvent type cleaners, oil-based paints, gasoline, alcohol, or aerosol sprays. Explosive dusts include but are not limited to: coal, magnesium, grain, or gun powder. To reduce the risk of health hazards from vapors or dust, do not vacuum toxic materials.

Do not plug the power cord into electrical supply. Make sure the plug is disconnected before changing the filters.

Do not vacuum drywall dust, fireplace soot, or ash with this vacuum. This is a very fine dust which will not be captured by the filter and may cause damage to motor.

shock hazard NOTE: To reduce the risk of electric shock, this vacuum cleaner has a polarized plug; one blade is wider than the other. This plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.

THIS VACUUM IS INTENDED FOR DRY PICK-UP ONLY.

  1. Verify that the power cord is disconnected from the outlet.
  2. Before vacuuming, fit the dust bag flange onto the inlet port, taking care not to damage the bag.
    VACUUMING OPERATION - Step 1

PRODUCT MAINTENANCE AND CARE

EMPTYING THE COLLECTION TANK

Always follow all safety precautions when performing maintenance to the vacuum cleaner.

Always disconnect the plug from the outlet before removing the powerhead from the collection tank.

  1. Verify that the power cord is disconnected from the outlet.
  2. Disconnect the hose from the vacuum by turning counter-clockwise.
  3. Undo the latches and remove the powerhead from the collection tank. Place powerhead on a soft, clean surface upside down.
  4. Clear all dirt and debris from the collection tank and hose into a proper waste container.
  5. Clean or replace the filters.
  6. Check the hose, accessories, and power cord to verify that they have not been damaged.
  7. Place the powerhead back on collection tank and secure latches.

INSTALLING & CLEANING PRE-FILTER

INSTALLING PRE-FILTER

  1. Verify that the power cord is disconnected from the outlet.
  2. Remove the powerhead and place in an upside-down position.
  3. Install the pre-filter onto the rim of the collection tank. Make sure the edge of the filter fits snugly along the edge of the collection tank.
NOTE: Ensure the dust bag and the prefilter are correctly installed before each use.
  4. Place the powerhead back onto the collection tank.

REMOVING & CLEANING PRE-FILTER

  1. Remove the pre-filter by lifting up.
  2. Clean the pre-filter by gently tapping or brushing dirt off. If necessary, gently rinse the pre-filter with cool clean water. Do not scrub or brush the prefilter. Allow the pre-filter to air dry for 24 hours before re-installing. DO NOT install pre-filter if it is damp, or it will damage the vacuum.
  3. For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the pre-filter every 3 to 6 months.
  4. Install cleaned or new filters as above in steps 2-4 of Installing Pre-Filter.

REMOVING & CLEANING THE AIR INLET FILTER

  1. Verify that the power cord is disconnected from the outlet
  2. With the removed powerhead in an upside-down position, carefully remove the air inlet filter from the tabs.
REMOVING & CLEANING THE AIR INLET FILTER
  3. Wash and rinse the air inlet filter with cool clean water.
  4. Allow the wet filter to air dry for 24 hours before re-installing.

Make sure that the pre-filter and air inlet filter are dry before use, otherwise it may cause poor cleaning performance or damage to the motor.

  1. Re-install the cleaned air inlet filter.
  2. Place the powerhead back onto the collection tank.

REMOVING & CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER

  1. Verify that the power cord is disconnected from the outlet.
  2. Unlock the exhaust filter door by lifting both of the locking tabs upwards and pull the door out.
REMOVING & CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER - Step 1
  3. Remove the exhaust filter from the vacuum and clean by gently tapping or brushing off dirt. If necessary, gently rinse the exhaust filter with cool clean water. Do not scrub or brush the exhaust filter while wet. Allow the exhaust filter to air dry for 24 hours before reinstalling.
REMOVING & CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER - Step 2
  4. For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the old exhaust filter with a new filter every year.

Make sure the exhaust filter is dry before use.

  1. Install the cleaned or new filter. Then insert the filter door tabs into the upper slots and lock the filter door into place.
REMOVING & CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER - Step 3

Clean or change all filters regularly for best performance. ALWAYS USE FILTERS FOR DRY VACUUMING. If the machine is used without the filters, the motor will burn out and the warranty will be voided. Always keep spare filters on hand.

NOTE: All of the filters included are made of high-quality materials designed to stop small dust particles. The vacuum and all of the included filters should be used for dry pick-up only. Dry filters are necessary to pick up dust. If the filter is wet, it will clog quickly and be very difficult to clean. Handle all of the filters carefully when removing it for cleaning and or replacing. Check the filters for tears or small holes. A small hole can let dust pass through and out of the filter. Do not use a filter with holes or tears; replace it immediately.

STORAGE

Before storing your vacuum, the collection tank should be emptied and cleaned. The accessories should be cleaned and stored so they can be readily available when needed. Store the vacuum indoors.

  1. Store the power cord in place by rotating the cord rewind knob clockwise as shown.
NOTE: To prevent the power cord from getting stuck, do not retract the cord too fast or in wrong direction.
  2. Place the wands onto the accessory storage.
  3. The floor nozzle has a storage hook that slides into the slot on the back of the collection tank.
