SELECTION
OF TAPE TYPE
Equalization and bias can be changed over in3 ways.
When using Normal
tape, set the Tape selectors
to the "NORMAL"
position; when using
Chromium dioxide tape (CrO2), set the Tape selectors
to the ''CrO2"
position;
when
using Metal Tape,
set the Tape selectors
to the
"METAL"
position.
In order to avoid
faulty recording
these selectors
should be checked before each recording is made.
These selectros can be
changed for playback equalization.
Cautions on the use of Metal Tape
1. Some Metal Tape is incompletely coated with magnetic powder
which causes level fluctuation, so it is recommended to clean the
heads, capstan and pressure roller after it is used several times.
(When cleaning, be careful not to apply too much force to the
head because it may cause the high frequency characteristics to
deteriorate.)
. Metal Tape recorded on this unit can be played back on other
units which do not have a Metal select switch position.
In this
case, set the tape selector to CrO2 or FeCr for playback.
TAPE PLAYBACK

and
the Function
selector @) to the "TAPE"
position
then
press the
Playback button @9 .

AND REWIND

ton @&. Tape may be rewound rapidly by pressing the Rewind button @) .

It is possible to
change directly from the Playback mode to the Fast forward or Rewind
mode and vice versa.
The D.R.P.S. locates the beginning of tunes by detecting the gaps be-
tween tunes while fast-forwarding or rewinding during the playback of
music tapes.
Note:
1. Set the recorder in the playback mode.
2. The D.R.P.S.
works only when
the Function
selector @ is set to
"TAPE".
3. Do not have the Program indicator @ lit except during tune selection
to prevent the batteries from being discharged.
