Call-home configuration information
Since the configuration data for each individual product is stored in NVRAM on the product
itself, there is a separate backup option provided in each Product Manager to save the
product configuration to the HP EFC server. If you perform a product configuration
backup through the Product Manager, the configuration data is stored in the
directory and automatically mirrored to the QuikSync Zip disk.
The QuikSync application will not back up certain Windows configurations that need to be
reconfigured on a newly-restored HP EFC server, including:
•
Windows 2000 user names and passwords
•
TCP/IP network configuration (IP address, Gateway address, DNS names, etc.)
You should use other means to back up this type of information.
The QuikSync application is included on the HP EFC Management Applications CD, and
automatically installed on the HP EFC server during installation. A blank Zip disk
dedicated to QuikSync is required for each HP EFC server and is included with the HP EFC
installation package.
Enabling QuikSync
QuikSync is ready to back up data when the QuikSync icon displays in the system tray in
the bottom right corner of the Windows system window (Figure 8). This icon spins when
data is writing to the Zip disk.

If the icon does not display, you must enable the application as follows:
1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button, then click Programs, then Iomega
QuikSync, then QuikSync.
The Iomega QuikSync dialog box displays (Figure 9).
