- The physical condition of the antenna may affect the radio's performance.
- If the original KRA-21 antenna is worn, bent or damaged, immediately have your
Kenwood authorized dealer replace the antenna with a new, properly adjusted KRA-21
antenna.
- Failure to follow these instructions may cause poor performance, damage to your
transceiver, and may also place excess transmitter energy on the metal portions of your
radio, which could make the transceiver uncomfortable to handle when transmitting.
- When transmitting, if your hand feels uncomfortable, contact your Kenwood dealer for
a transceiver inspection, and possible antenna replacement.

KMC-25 is not compatible with the TK-190 due to the effects of RF on it at low band frequencies; the KMC-25A is the compatible model. The KMC-26 Speaker microphone with antenna connector CANNOT be used due to the inadequate ground plane properties on a speaker microphone at low band frequencies (the TK-190 does not have an RF pin on its accessory connector).
