    In some locations, the power cord comes attached to the printer. The shape of the AC plug varies by country; be sure the plug included is the right shape for your location. Remove all protective materials packed with your printer before setting up and plugging in the printer.

    Roll paper feeder: Holds the roll paper and automatically feeds it after holding the roll paper with your hand for three seconds. Roll paper edge guides: Helps load the roll paper straight. Adjust the edge guide to fit the width of your paper. Roll paper holder: Attaches to the printer and holds the roll paper.

    Moves the print head to the ink check position when and empty ink cartridge is detected. Moves the print head to the ink cartridge replacement position.     Each time the cartridge is inserted, some ink is consumed because the printer automatically performs a reliability check. Do not touch the green IC chip on the side of the cartridge. This may affect normal operation and printing. The IC chip on this ink cartridge retains a variety of cartridge related-information, such as the amount of ink remaining, so that a cartridge may be removed and reinserted freely.

    Chapter 1 Paper Handling Loading Plain Paper Follow the steps below to load plain paper in the printer. 1. Lower the output tray. Next, slide the left edge guide so that the distance between the edge guides is slightly wider than the width of your paper.

    However, coated paper results in higher quality printouts because these media absorb smaller amounts of ink. EPSON provides special media that are formulated for the ink used in EPSON ink jet printers. EPSON recommends using media distributed by EPSON to ensure high-quality results. See “Media types”...
  • Page 25 Load the media printable side up in the sheet feeder. See the instruction sheets packed with the media to determine which side is the printable side. Some types of media have cut corners to help identify the correct loading direction, as shown in the illustration.

To avoid gaps, always return the adjust lever to the ^ position before printing on other media. When the adjust lever is in the ^ position, make sure that the High Speed check box in the printer driver’s Advanced dialog box is cleared.

Available envelopes sizes are: No.10, DL, C6, 132 mm × 220 mm Do not use envelopes that are curled or folded. Flatten the envelope flaps before loading.     Loading Matte Board When printing on the matte board whose thickness is between 0.4 to 2.5 mm, please note the following: Caution: Follow the instructions below to load the matte board. If you load it in a wrong way, you may damage the printer. Since the roll paper holder covers the matte board feeder, remove the roll paper holder before loading the matte board.

    Chapter 2 Double-Sided Printing Using Double-Sided Printing The EPSON Stylus Photo 950 supports double-sided printing. There are two types of double-sided printing available. Standard double-sided printing allows you to print the odd-numbered pages first. Once these pages are printed, they can then be reloaded to print the even-numbered pages onto the opposite side of the paper.

    Loading the roll paper Follow the directions below to mount the roll paper holder and load the roll paper. 1. Load roll paper in the roll paper holder. Note: Remove the transparent sheet after setting the roll paper into the holders.

You also cannot select Maximum or Centered as the Printable Area setting, or use the functions on the Layout menu. Do not select PhotoEnhance in the printer software, as this may cause your printout to have gaps.
