Adding memory (optional) HINT: To purchase additional memory modules, see the accessories information packaged with your system or visit accessories.toshiba.com. Your computer comes with enough memory to run most of today’s popular applications. You may want to increase the computer’s memory if you use complex software or process large amounts of data.
Page 27
Installing a memory module A memory module can be installed in the memory module slot on the base of the computer. You will need a small Phillips screwdriver for this procedure. If the computer has been running recently, the memory module may be hot.
Page 28
Adding memory (optional) Before you turn the computer over, make sure that the computer display is properly closed and is not in tablet mode. Setting the computer down on the display may cause damage to the screen. (Sample Illustration) Locating the memory module slot cover Using a small Phillips screwdriver, loosen the captive screw that secures the memory module slot cover.
Page 29
Avoid touching the connector on the memory module or on the computer. Grease or dust on the connector may cause memory access problems. To ensure that the battery maintains its maximum capacity, operate the computer on battery power at least once a month. The Lithium- Ion battery has no memory effect so it is not necessary to let the battery fully discharge each time. However, for better accuracy of the battery meter, it is helpful to fully discharge the battery periodically.
Page 40
Mobile computing TECHNICAL NOTE: The recharging of the battery cannot occur when your computer is using all of the power provided by the AC adaptor to run applications, features, and devices. Your computer's Power Options utility can be used to select a power level setting that reduces the power required for system operation and will allow the battery to recharge.
