Page 19 About the Tablet mode The TOSHIBA PORTÉGÉ M700 computer can be used in two ways, as an ordinary laptop PC and as a Tablet PC. You can use the computer as Tablet PC, operated with the supplied Tablet PC Pen, by turning the display panel by 180 degrees and closing it.

While holding down the palm rest with one hand so that the main body of the computer is not raised, slowly lift the display panel - this will allow the angle of the display panel to be adjusted to provide optimum clarity.

PORTÉGÉ M700 ■ Make sure the Hard Disk Drive and Ultra Slim Bay’s module indicator is off. If you turn off the power while a disk (disc) is being accessed, you may lose data or damage the disk. ■ Never turn off the power while an application is running. Doing so could cause loss of data.

Make sure the connector is properly aligned with the socket. Do not try to force the connection, doing so can damage the connecting pins. If you connect the USB floppy diskette drive after the computer has already been turned on, it will take about ten seconds for it to be recognized by the computer.

USB Sleep and Charge function Your computer can supply USB bus power (DC5V) to the USB port even when the power of the computer is turned OFF. “Power OFF” includes Sleep Mode, Hibernation Mode or shutdown state.
