Signaling contacts / control contacts
2.5.1
Signaling contact (configurable)
Figure 2-6
The signaling contact is a normally open contact (terminal "13" and "14") and facilitates
processing information about the operating state of the device.
Contact rating: 30 V DC/0.1 A
When supplied, the signaling contact is configured so that it closes at an output voltage
U
out
Deviating from the factory setting, the signaling contact can be adapted to specific system
requirements via the IO-Link interface so that other device operating states can be signaled.
Additional information on this topic is provided in Chapter Commissioning and
parameterization (Page 57).
2.5.2
Control contact for parallel operation
Figure 2-7
The control contacts for parallel operation facilitate uniform current distribution between two
devices connected in parallel. A non-isolated connection is established from the leading
SITOP PSU8400 (OUT) to an additional SITOP PSU8400 (IN) using a wire connection. This
synchronizes the two connected power supplies in operation. This uniformly distributes the
currents of the synchronized devices for a constant output voltage independent of the load.
The precondition for an output voltage independent of the load is that all devices connected
in parallel are set to "hard" output characteristic (see Chapter Selecting the output
characteristic (Page 33)).
Additional information about parallel operation is provided in Chapter Applications (Page 95).
