Regional Settings The regional settings window allows localization of services to country, the selection of a 7- or 10-digit dial plan, and the system’s timezone. The administrator should make changes as required and then advance to the next screen with the Next button. -

Automatic Backup UC320W has an automatic configuration backup utility that writes to a USB key inserted into either of the USB ports. The time of day and frequency of the backup can be specified. Establishing a regular backup to capture the configuration and any changes is strongly recommended. -

PBX/Key System The PBX/Key System menu option allows the administrator to determine how the UC320W handles shared FXO lines. Curious administrators should consult the online help system for a detailed explanation. The vast majority of Cbeyond customers should select the default “Blend” mode which offers the features of both PBX and Key systems. -

Day/Night Features The Day/Night Features window allows the administrator to configure how incoming calls are handled at different times of the day and night. The default setting is to enable a simple automated attendant all the time and to use the same call routing plan all the time. -

Internal Dialing The Internal Dialing window lets the administrator configure the first basic elements of the UC320W dial plan. The default settings were accepted for purposes of this document, as an example only. The online help system may be consulted for explanations of how to use the various options. -

Page 30: Line (Fxo) Ports
Line (FXO) Ports UC320W has four (4) FXO ports that can be used with LEC POTS lines for inbound and outbound calling. Cbeyond customers who leverage Cbeyond’s integrated voice and data service, which is delivered through a Cisco IAD or ISR, do generally not use these. -
Page 31: Fxs Ports
FXS Ports UC320W also has an FXS port that can be used for something like a Fax machine or modem line. The FXS Ports window allows the installer to enable or disable the port. If enabled, it will also require the assignment of an extension later in the configuration. -
Page 32: Sip/Bri Configuration
DIDs purchased. A 12-line service, for example, would set “call capacity” to 12. Note that the licensed features of the UC320W itself must permit setting the call capacity to what has been purchased from Cbeyond. In other words, an 8-line UC320W will not support a 12-line Cbeyond service. - Page 33 “main number” of the customer. Password: Provide in Cbeyond’s initial setup documentation, this is the password required to authenticate the customer’s UC320W to Cbeyond’s SIP proxy server. SRV Record Lookup: Should be checked. SRV Auto Prefix: Should be left unchecked.

Installers should reference the online help for details about this option but it essentially enables a SIP ALG, requiring a static IP address for the purposes of NAT and allowing STUN server configuration.

These Phone Numbers portion of the Inbound Calls screen. The default setting is for the UC320W to send all calls inbound on the DIDs to the AA. This is the “Default Route” for the calls. - Page 52 In the example system used for testing UC320W for Cbeyond, 3 DIDs are assigned to a test account that was applied to the test unit. The first DID, shown in the screenshot below, is 678-397-2544. This is the “main number” that is used to authenticate the SIP trunk and in this example remains assigned to the AA for general inbound calls.
